Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️
Focusing on budget drinks, mainly from a mainstream perspective, although there is a selection, including a locally brewed attempt at Czech pils, ‘Svejk’. If that doesn’t appeal, there is a familiar back bar to acquaint yourself with.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A basement venue with a personalised, let’s say worn-in interior encompassing several rooms.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Informal and somewhere to let your hair down, whether that’s an afternoon away from the reserved streets to the height of an evening out. You’ll find people willing to chat and make friends here, which may be your thing or not. It is ours.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pub food, snacks, TV, jukebox, books, board games, karaoke, bingo
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️❤️
Afternoon discounts lower the prices to a level that is very affordable by Finnish standards (although merely ordinary by others), but overall this is aiming at the budget end of the market.
DescriptionA basement dive bar, don’t be fooled by ‘Ravintola’, as virtually every business serving food seems to need to have that stuck on it by law in Finland. This is a casual hangout where you’re more likely than elsewhere to get chatting with locals. Informal and homely, it is known as Tampere’s living room. Don’t come here for high end beers or refinement, but for a good laugh and a break from the usual stuffiness and staid atmosphere elsewhere, this should definitely be marked down. For those on a budget travelling to Finland, this will be an essential stop-off, particularly during Happy Hours.
