Description:
St Pauli’s stock of punky corner pubs, Raucherkneipe with a no B.S approach means you have a fairly wide selection to pick from if that’s your thing. Tippel II is worth recommending in part because it’s such a clear example of this style.

A small bar with limited seating around it, with more space in the raised area to the rear.

Highly personalised, this is a bar which wears its scars with pride.

As per usual, expect St Pauli ephemera – pirate stickers, Antifa graffiti, smokey atmosphere and a straightforward service.

It can be really friendly, both somewhere to chat to strangers and a meeting place to hang out. They also show live football and have a jukebox.

With bargain basement prices for bottled beer, they know their audience and stick to it. If you like this sort of thing (which we do when it’s done well and not pure trash), it’s well worth a look in here for possibly the most ur-typical example of a St Pauli pub.
