| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A superior range of cask ales with a less impressive but solid enough selection of keg, bottles and back bar choices. Some European beers on show. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Old fashioned with red paint and blackened beams, multi-roomed with a low ceiling. Wooden furniture and a bar billiards table. Fish tank between the bar and lounge. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Local and all the better for it. A cosy and atmospheric social meeting space. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Bar billiards, board games and cards, books, snacks and fishtank. |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Slightly more expensive for the area. |
| Description | An excellent pub which combines a number of key ingredients well. The raw materials are good for a start – low ceilings with exposed beams, a multiroom setup with a hatch for serving. These are retained, decorated with red walls and blackened beams, fitted with traditional wooden furniture and a bar billiards table. A local feel with community events, good range of ales including local breweries and reportedly great Sunday lunches too. Very well reviewed and deservedly so. (added March 2022) |
