| EBG Rating: | 7.8/10 |
| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 3/4 cask ales, focusing on local independent breweries. Strong gin selection and competent back bar. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ A retro vision bringing back a war era terrace pub. Globe lamps, print wallpaper, signage and advertising of the era, and comfortable bench seating. A small ground floor with rear outdoor seating area, and further space upstairs. Exposed floorboards. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A naturally characterful venue, although perhaps lacking a particular corner or focal point of socialising which would elevate it beyond a richly enjoyable curio to a true regular hangout spot, but that is due to the layout and building they’ve chosen. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Food, snacks, TV, outdoor seating, games |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Similar pricing to anywhere else in the vicinity. |
| Description | To look at the place, you’d think it had been a local pub since the 1930s, but this is an adventurous and ambitious conversion from a terraced house to a retro-traditional pub. Inside is a thin cosy space well fitted with globe lamps, wood fittings and signage of the era. It is nice to see a vision brought to life with this level of panache. However, it isn’t simply a museum, with TV, outdoor space, meals, modern beers and enough amenities to draw in different crowds. This must explain the great reviews. Definitely one to keep in mind as it conveniently links the city centre with the Baltic Triangle or Georgia quarter if you are doing a pub crawl. (Added July 2024) |
