Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Local breweries supply the cask ales and there is usually at least one real cider from Barbourne, with a selection of what you’d call ‘superior mainstream’ bottles for variety.

Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A curved frontage on street without much showy out front, but set in an impressive Georgian listed building.

It is one of those pubs without much of a bar, as such. You step up from the entrance and it’s facing you almost like a kiosk, with two comfortable, loungey, worn-in boozer rooms either side.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Welcoming, casual and comfortable with a homely loungey feel. Unpretentious and social. Magnificent.

Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rolls, snacks, outdoor seating, games, fireplaces, live music.

Value For Money:
❤️❤️❤️
Typical city centre rates.

Description:
The Plough is a casual, social and comfortable traditional community pub in the centre of Worcester between the Cathedral and the High Street. A curved frontage without much showy out-front, but set in an impressive Georgian listed building.

It is one of those pubs without much of a bar, as such. You step up from the entrance and it’s facing you almost like a kiosk, with two comfortable, loungey, worn-in boozer rooms either side. It feels comfortable and welcoming from the get go.

Local breweries supply the cask ales and there is usually at least one real cider from Barbourne, with a selection of what you’d call ‘superior mainstream’ bottles for variety.

It’s the kind of non-corporate, non-chain down-to-earth pub you’d meet up to play dominoes, join a music group, and natter over a pint or two. It reminded us of pubs like The Fat Cat in Sheffield, which is a big compliment.

With an outdoor terrace with a – sort of – view of the cathedral, and fireplaces in both pub rooms, it’s versatile enough to work in all seasons, and would never be far from your thoughts when considering where to meet for a drink in Worcester.
