Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️
Middling, sadly dominated by some mediocre corporate keg and only a small selection of cask.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A showstopper. Heritage pub with ornate wood carved bar and stunning tiled hallway. Two rooms set off from the corridor, the most interest of which is easily the bar room. Comfortable furnishings.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Lively and vibrant due to nearby campus and some football, albeit peripheral from the city centre.

Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Snacks, record player, instruments, live music.

Value For Money:
❤️❤️❤️
Typical for the city centre.

Description:
Late Victorian splendour can be experienced at The Paul Pry, named after a then famous Musical Hall character who liked to poke his nose in other people’s business.

The lavish interior, particularly the tiling on the entrance and leading up to the toilets is a showstopper – you most of will rarely have lingered in a dimly lit corridor as you will here.

The situation of the pub feels quite peripheral when walked to from the town centre, but it is close to the University Campus, and as a result you’ll find a good mixture of old and young here.

Customers are kept occupied by live music nights, the vinyl collection and player (which you are welcome to bring your own records down to use), musical instruments and board games. There’s a relaxed, youthful atmosphere as a result which blends well with the ornate fittings and makes the place feel more cosmopolitan than you might expect.

One slight downside is the beer collection which is sadly dominated by some mediocre keg and cask. It would suffice were it not pretty straightforward to find good drinks nearby around Worcester. Nevertheless, this should not deter you from visiting what is not only a heritage pub but one that is alive and vibrant.
