Description

One of the ultimate hikers pubs, this venue is the official start of the Pennine Way, and always host to an excitable/weary wave of hikers coming and going, looking for a rest and some grub – the hiker’s pie having gone down in history for its size. Despite the clear touristic aspect, the interior remains almost scrupulously unchanged with tiled floor suitable for muddy boots, and simple rustic decor and furniture that has gained a certain character over the years. Hard wearing. Despite the location there are one or two interesting keg option, along with several of the typical regional cask ales.
