| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A decent range covering cask and keg with some local and independent brewers. Competent back bar. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Striking ex-industrial building with a traditional pub fitting. Large fireplace sadly not in use but tastefully decorated. Upholstered bench seating and plenty of pillars/joists from its original use. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Natural ambience from its original industrial use and tasteful decor, normally sleepy and cool, but can become raucous on events nights, festivals, and in summer. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Outside seating, snacks, foods, museum, occasional events, board games |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Fair value for money |
| Description | The opposite of a pub you’d walk past by accident, this is somewhere with footfall only from Museum visitors. Aside of that it is frequented by people in the know. It’s a difficult task even then given the number of good pubs in the vicinity to persuade people to travel further into Kelham Island’s industrial heart. The museum is opposite and the pub itself is part of that complex, repurposed tastefully into a colourful, atmospheric and quite dusky surrounding of exposed brick, fairy lights and props. The offering mixed traditional with modern, there is social bench seating and board games to attract people to hang around. Its best suit is in summer with outdoor tables by the river, which culminates in the beer festival days where the place reaches its zenith. One not to overlook. |
