⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent range of cask ales with the host brewery tap’s wares, guests and then large fridge taking in craft ale plus Belgian classics. Perfunctory alternatives |
Style/
Décor
|
⭐⭐⭐
A large whitewashed building by the motorway which stands out. The interior is low-key with a few hints of the ‘roadside tavern’ about it, but mainly going for a simple ale house look. The furniture has had some thought (and money) put into it with some niches, benches etc to accommodate different crowds. |

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very popular hangout so expect to see plenty of people even earlier in the day during midweek. The bar area tends to have a throng of locals but there are places in and around to sit. You can’t help but feel like you’re in the right place in the area. |

Description

Credit to any pub that does a lot of things well, that you can reflect on and while not thinking of any particular standout feature, have been thoroughly satisfied by what was on offer. This applies to here where the most striking element of the pub is its silly name. They host homebrew beers and a broad range of options from cask, keg and bottles not just from the UK but with some Belgian classics featuring. Good cider options too, and all are provided for pretty reasonable value. Care has gone into the furnishing with each space used thoughtfully to maximise the room and promote both conviviality and discretion. A cast of locals even earlier on attests to what a local legend the pub is. A venue to mark on your map should you ever be in the area. Do be careful to check opening hours before setting off there.
