Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
High quality ale selection covering local cask and craft + european Keg, but it is not beer dominated with a decent back bar for alternatives.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Set in a small row of shops, a heated outdoor area obscure the front, but once inside you’ll find an effective a refit in Art Deco style with aged wood, lamplight and a long drag to the rear of the bar up a couple of steps.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Atmospheric venue with a natural feel to its ambience, whether busy or quiet, somewhere you could go on your own or with a group. Woozy early evening tipple seems to be the core of the appeal. Despite the refit and smart bar area there is a casual, neighbourly feel without much pretense.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, books, board games, occasional live events, Jazz Sundays
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
Standard though not any less than you’d pay in central Manchester.
DescriptionWell worth the 9 minute walk from the tram stop to this refit bar that’s almost out on its own in Whalley Range. A stylish and atmospheric bar with Deco influences, but it isn’t stuffy or upright at all, instead there’s a casual neighbourly feel and an excellent beer selection. Overall it stands out a fair way above the local competition and if it were in central Manchester no doubt we’d be there a lot more often.
