Choice/
Quality of Drinks
|
⭐⭐⭐
The weak point, a sadly drab selection of cask ales and keg considering the otherwise opulent and singular nature of the pub. However, there is a better, if old-fashioned back bar of alternatives. |
Style/
Décor
|
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Art Decor splendour with varnished wooden traditional partitioned seats and screens, pastel paints and a backroom, complimented with foliage and some sympathetic ornaments. |
Atmosphere/
Character
|
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dusky atmosphere of total calm during the day in a way that has a feel almost of a Belgian café, with the parquet floor and old wood. The community feel comes alive later in the day, complimented by a soundtrack that works well with the surroundings. |
Amenities/
Events
|
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Limited outdoor seating, meals, snacks, fireplace, occasional dress-up nights |
Value For Money
|
⭐⭐
Expensive, no doubt due to the location. |
Description
|
For stylists, this pub is a must visit in London, a rare Art Deco ensemble with a firmly convincing effect, curated with big plants and tastefully chosen ornaments. The atmosphere is dusky and calm by day, with a more community feel at night time. If the drinks options improved and they were more democratically priced, this pub would move up to being one of the top 10 in London. For now, it is simply superior.
