Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️
Thwaites pub, a limited selection of cask ale but very well kept, the IPA particularly good.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A high street pub, walk in off the street to a low-slung cottage with a small intimate bar with upholstered bench seating opposite the bar and around a centrepiece fireplace with the eponymous barrel fitted above it. A backroom is along similar lines with a further fireplace.

Very cosy and welcoming, a social rather than food focus and a lovely environment to be in.

Typical for the area.
DescriptionThwaites do not have a spotless record for maintaining their traditional pubs in an unspoilt fashion, but here is one of their finer examples. Walk in directly from the high street to a cosy, intimate and immediately attractive pub with two roaring fireplaces and comfortable seating. The emphasis is social rather than foody too, so you’ll see visitors and village residents rubbing shoulders. A superior example of a pub of this style and worth seeking out if in the area.
