| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Well respected for its enormous bottle selection, with ten rotating taps including beers from smaller and/or independent craft beer breweries in Ireland. If you’re looking to shop local, here’s the place to do it. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Interior of nik-naks and antiques. Bar straight in front as you enter with cushioned seats opposite. Enter a long room with chunky tables towards the end. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tremendously characterful and lively during the evenings, often accentuated by live music and friendly get togethers from different social scenes, so basically not your average naval-gazing craft beer bar. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Live music, board games, occasional antique fayres, shop, snacks. |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️ On the higher side even adjusting for the specialist beers available. |
| Description | Aiming to be both a beer specialists and legit traditional pub. Though established in 2008, careful curation of antiques and nik-naks along with choice of furnishings gives the place a hard to place feel in time. Well respected for its enormous bottle selection, with ten rotating taps including beers from smaller and/or independent craft beer breweries in Ireland. If you’re looking to shop local, here’s the place to do it. Service can be occasionally gruff by Irish standards but it’s functional, while the pub itself plays host to occasional antiques fayres, more frequent music nights, and board game get togethers, making it feel as important a social hub as any other pub in the city, which is to its great credit. Other than some steep pricing and occasional need for heating at times on colder days, everything else about the bar is pretty damn fantastic. (Added February 2025) |
