After a couple of visits I am happy to include this pub on our guide. The excellent selection of Franconian beer at fair prices is a good start.
Their amusingly named house beer ‘Mauerscheisser’ is simply stunning.
The terrace outside is very scenic and pleasant on a sunny day. Indoors there is distinctive colourful decor with painted wood and floral motifs, and the classic Wirtshaus Kachlofen and a dedicated pub bar area.
While the place is also cafe/restaurant focused it clearly also functions as a pub.
Updated 2025: New ownership has met with mixed reviews locally however it did not hugely affect our latest experience. The beer options remain strong overall albeit slightly pared back on tap.
