Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
35+ taps, most from the brewery itself, a decent selection of alternatives too. Wide variety of styles covered.

Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️
A large venue on two floors with plenty of outdoor space too, the core of the action is downstairs at the bar. A high ceiling, most of which is plastered in the gazillion lines of beer to choose from, which is a pleasure but has never been in and of itself enough to warrant a guide entry. The downstairs is hewn in a rectilinear grid of metal stanchions and dark wood, like if a brewery taproom had been asked to design a youth hostel or a concentration camp. Upstairs is lighter but lacks the personality the colourful bar adds.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Lively venue with a younger crowd (though not exclusively) and sense of fixture. Easy and casual socialising.

Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, outdoor seating, brewery tours, merchandise.

Value For Money:
❤️❤️❤️
Overall reasonable corresponding with the quality. You could pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere.

Description:
Another city, another brewery taproom from the 2010s and after the 100th anodyne venue your senses become dulled, you can veer towards cynical. As I approached Malmö Brewing Co & Taproom I must admit I had expectations limited to killing some time at a conveniently located bar while trying a local beer.

I emerged later quietly impressed despite initial reservations.

Branding which comes across as nicely DIY or done on the day rather than overly sleek and corporate is a positive here and reduces the coldness I so often feel at such places.

It’s a busy, popular venue and so there is usually a reasonable buzz to enjoy too.

In the city you won’t find anywhere else like it.
