Choice/
Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beers are unsurprisingly a strong suit with 8 cask lines, a row of keg options and fridge full of bottles and cans. Alternatives are decent but not a standout.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hop Rocket is a one-room setup with raised area to the rear and bar to the left of the entrance. Painted in greens and reds with the now fairly common recovered breweriana and hoardings which always proves quite effective. Small terrace out front.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️
Suburban ale house feel that perhaps lacks a natural focal point due to layout, but improves when busier, particularly sunnier days on the terrace.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beer related events and takeovers, sandwiches & rolls, snacks, merchandise, shop, outdoor seating
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
Reasonable overall but not outstanding.
DescriptionOpening in early 2024, adding an ale house to Unthank Road which has slowly and surely become a more happening suburb, albeit from the perspective of affluence.

A former bookshop and cocktail bar, now owned and run by Brewery Tap in NR3, Hop Rocket is a one-room setup with raised area to the rear and bar to the left of the entrance.

Painted in greens and reds with the now fairly common recovered breweriana and hoardings which always proves quite effective.

Drinks are unsurprisingly a focus and strong suit with 8 cask lines, a row of keg options and fridge full of beers for alternatives.

A clearly superior suburban choice that compares favourably with strong equivalents like The Hillary Step in Manchester. (Added August 2024)
