Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️
Landbier on draft (albeit Grevensteiner) is the highlight of an otherwise compact and familiar beer and back bar range.

Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Compact basement pub set off from the docs. Exposed brick, whitewashed walls and chunky wooden tables in a small space with only a few booths. Plainly decorated in a traditional fashion. Terrace out front.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful, warm hospitality from the owner who is friendly to talk to and methodical in her approach which makes a big difference in a small pub like this. During the day you’ll find locals popping in for lunch, and it is convivial and chatty in the evening.

Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, outdoor seating, private hire

Value For Money:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Drinks are normally priced but the food is genuinely good value.

Description:
A humble, but cosy little basement pub dating from the 1990s with terrace overlooking the Schwinge with its Hanseatic townhouses and dock crane.

The pub is low key and unshowy, brick vaults, and plain furnishings, and the overall recommendation stems not only from its tasteful interior but the warmth and hospitality of the owner Angela, the fact there’s a Landbier on draft (even if it is Veltins) in a land of remorseless Pils and the concept of the food which is good value lunch fodder – fish sarnies and the like for a fair price.

Don’t come here for jukebox, dartboard, table football and dancing, but for homespun charm, warmth and welcome which makes a great setting for beer, good food and a chat.
