| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ One of Cork’s go to pubs for a strong selection of beers from independent brewers including Irish brewers. Though not on Bierhaus or Abbotts level, that is no criticism. A versatile range of other options, particularly whiskies, gins and wines. Most people will be satisfied here, and most of them pleasantly surprised. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A long bar to the left of the entrance. Although decorated funkily, the inside does feel almost like a corridor to your intended seating, a large covered outdoor area, astroturfed with some faux-Warhol type garish paint applied to statues. Large communal tables. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ The versatility of the bar means it draws in a reasonable range, albeit slanting towards a younger audience. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Pizza, snacks, outdoor seating, board games |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️ City centre prices. |
| Description | Versatile funked-up Southside bar with a wide range of beers, gins, whiskies and wines, pleasing a broad crowd. The format here has morphed, like a few in the city, the focus shifted to a large covered outdoor area with large communal tables and pop art influenced décor which oscillates between genuinely well done, fun and cruddy (although as always, it’s in the eye of the beholder). With some local beers on offer, board games and a dog friendly policy, there’s all manner of reasons to pop along here for an afternoon or evening. Could there be a few more deals and discounts? – yes – Could the inside area feel less like a throughway and more like a place to sit down? – also yes, but on balance it deserves its inclusion to our guide.
