| EBG Rating: | 7.8/10 |
| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️ Excellent local cask ale options, however fairly poor range of keg and bottles given the beer centric format. Perfunctory alternatives |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Distinctive retro downstairs and bar area with ceiling fans slowly rotating, wooden bench seats and an antiquey ale house vibe, albeit genteel. Piano and several little side rooms. Upstairs is a 2nd largely unused pointless bar with some space for music performances, perhaps slightly tackier decor and furniture by comparison. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A sense of local life immediately and a quirky distinctive hangout spot. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Music, snacks, events, limited outdoor space |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Standard for the area |
| Description | We are pleased to report the Covid-era refurbishment hasn’t ruined this ale house revival which retains its nooks & crannies downstairs along with the distinctive ceiling fans and wood panels, piano and broad, ever-changing cask ale selection. Shipley are lucky to have this and The Fox as local drinking options when considering the situation in nearby towns. |
