Location: Bahnhofstraße 4, 28195 Bremen
Venue Type: Kneipe / Traditional / Pils Bar
Year of Inscription: 2025
EBG Rating: 7.5/10
Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️
Basic North German wares whether that be beers or mixers.
Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A characterful venue with grid pattern windows, carved back bar and model ship affixed above it. Small kneipe layout.
Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Working class, North German pub, but not too trashy, some of the typical excesses are kept to the fringes, mercifully. A definite social document as these places fade by the decade.
Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️
Snacks, TV, smoking permitted.
Value For Money:
❤️❤️
A little higher than expected, but within typical city centre margins.
Description:
“The Fly” occupies two major points of convenience – it is near the train/tram/bus interchange, and – unusually for North Germany – it opens on a Sunday.
These will undoubtedly come in handy if you’re there on a weekend.
A classic Kneipe with hatched window frontage, traditional interior including carved back bar and model frigate fixed to the ceiling above it.
As you can expect around here, smoking is permitted and it is a solidly working class venue.
Service is nice, drinks are straightforward familiar stuff for Bremen and all-in-all, taking the rough with the smooth, you can give this a solid recommendation for a station option. (Added September 2025)
