Description:
Dating from 1906, this pub is open from 9.30AM until the small hours of the morning every day. A fixture of Davidstrasse, one of the Reeperbahn’s most notorious areas, where any unaccompanied males tend to be grabbed towards the various brothels operating along this street. This is Hamburg, so this happens literally in full glare of the Reeperbahn’s police station (easily the architectural highlight of this area too)

A dinky little pub with collection of football scarves on the ceiling, dog friendly, and a typical example of a St Pauli bar – small, casual, dog-eared and social.

Due to the location the server will size you up – they’re used to occasional trouble, but after that initial cautious welcome things become much more likeable.

Despite the position, there are a host of regulars here and a determined sense of keeping the pub alive for locals as well as visitors.

Not a pub for shrinking violets but if you mind your manners there’s plenty to be said for it.
