A family-owned business from 1985, Café CaVa has developed a patina of charm in the decades that have followed. The bar area is particularly characterful with its well chosen and positioned retro signage, but the long room it occupies is interesting too, particularly the antique furnishings and the windows/shutters out to the front.

It’s a versatile space that occupies the role of café, bar, games room and even theatre (if you include watching football).

The success of the place is making a space where you could easily go for an ice cream, or a meal, or to hang out with your mate with some beers without any of those feeling clashing and without the space feeling bland.

Prices are relatively restrained aiming at a younger audience on a more modest budget.

It’s well worth seeking out if in the district.
