| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ An all-rounder with everything from Landbier to Kir Royal available – the staff may not be familiar with everything but be patient with them! |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Battered old kneipe in building dating to 1890, site of a former brewery. Interior is ramshackle but loveable with dark wood and raise seating, with some nooks and crannies to the left of the bar and wider performance space to the right. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ The holy union of students and grizzled old men show you what type of place this is, but the venue is such a cult destination that honestly you can find female phD students sitting alone with their laptop and coffee doing work here, and couples chatting in the corner. A great atmosphere day or night. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Meals, snacks, live performances, events |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Very good value daily dishes and happy hour deals, while everything else is more normal, but fairly priced for the area. |
| Description | Nothing less than a legendary kneipe in Germany. In the building of a former brewery Neumayer whose signage is still visible outside (in disarmingly good condition), it has houses a restaurant, club and jazz bar across storied decades of the 20th Century. The operation Atlantik has existed since 1984 with a focus on providing cultural events and good food and drink at a fair price. The interior is charmingly battered, immediately putting you in mind of a Zizkov dive bar, with a congregation of students and grizzled elderlies, with a few in between here for a cheap meal or the events – which unusually emphasize slam poetry! Atlantik provides employment for refugees and this is sometimes shown in the excellent cooking, although it can naturally make it a little more disorganised at times. The drinks selection is altogether pretty decent too, with enough variation to keep one amused, although craft beer fans may find it a little last-gen, because the focus is on domestic wares and traditional German styles. With a fantastic atmosphere and ease to the place that you can experience day or night, this is a must visit for anyone who doesn’t turn their noses up at a scuzzy dive bar. |
