Very small, cosy, personalised and lived-in pub with colourful frontage. Enter to simple seating around a bar. In some ways a 1970s/1980s throwback.

Among the cheapest beers in Hamburg.

Description:
A Boazn style little drop in pub that is literally off-the-map. It had no Google profile when we found it by complete chance, wandering past down the street.

Its colourful 1970s era frontage and signage didn’t fail to give away its function as an ongoing pub, so we hung around to see what was happening.

Eventually plucking enough courage to enter into what is a tiny drinking den with cast of regulars.

Marina put me at ease quickly and within a minute or so everyone returned to their normal chat after a bit of sussing out, leaving me to enjoy a beer in one of the most original, unchanged pubs you’ll find in the district.

Sternschanze is a gentrifying district and Bei Marina is in some respects a relic, in others, an antidote.

If you’re on a budget it’s also among the cheapest places for a beer in Hamburg.

Warning: the place has no online profile so precise opening times are unknown
