| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Focusing on quality over quantity, a range of wines, cocktails and yes – tapped beers which are all from independent small producers, it is superb. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A corner bar with low-key entrance leads into a twinkly low-lit space with bare brick walls, fairylights and a wood panelled bar, with mantelpiece to the right. A second room to the left offers loungier but quite off-beat, arty space. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ A superb creation with natural ambience whether busy or quiet, simply put a place you feel like visiting and staying in. Detached from any sense of tourist or city centre churn. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Snacks, books, board games, occasional events. |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️ Typical Helsinki prices, albeit for high quality wares. |
| Description | Possibly Helsinki’s best bar? When you look on a map you might feel off-put by the distance away from the city centre, but in reality it’s a brief tram ride on a very well-served line out to Vallila district. In a district which borders on being suburbs, this beautiful bar offers intimacy with high quality wares in an arty, stimulating but not overly pretentious environment. I mean, can you ask for much more than that. Those of you not overly agitated by the thought of Greek natural wines may in turn be delighted by the Finnish craft ales on tap or the cocktails, while the venue itself is a beauty, the natural-feeling ambience and well-curated interior feeling both distinctive and attractive, making it ideal for an evening drink. Compact-sized, but this means it feels intimate even at quieter times. There’s no doubt anyone – save perhaps for the most inverted snob could deny this is an excellent bar. |
