Venue Type: Evening Bar / Tapas Bar
Year of Inscription: 2026
EBG Rating: 7.7/10
Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️
The tap beer is very poor and too poor to accompany food of this standard. Bottles/cans or wines are a better option.
Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A shopfront facing a dual carriageway with iconic exterior signage. Inside a one room pub that is more spacious than it first appears, partly due to a high ceiling. Wood-strip bar with colourful and tasteful retro artwork. Greyscale floor tiling. Candelabra style glass holder at the bar is striking. Warm ochre colour painted ceiling.
Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A cosmopolitan crowd, not exclusively young, with some older couples and families too joining in, but the stock audience is late twenties post-grads enjoying a range of snacks and wine/beer to wash it down. The space is effective and naturally social, with good acoustics and tasteful lighting. It has a personality too, one you can’t help but pick up on at peak times.
Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, limited outdoor seating.
Value For Money:
❤️❤️
Poor value for poor quality tap beer and relatively high prices across the board, which in the case of the food is more justified.
Description:
Situated on the fringes of the main bar and restaurant scene in Möllevången, Malmö’s cultural district, Kiosko is inspired by the snack bars and pub-cafés of Southern Europe – Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey show flashes of inspiration here.
The concept is to tie the regulatory framework which obliges pubs to serve food with the casual nature of bars you find in that region of Europe. To be honest, it works.
Open mid-afternoon onwards, it has attracted a cosmopolitan crowd, not exclusively young, with some older couples and families too joining in, but the stock audience is late twenties post-grads enjoying a range of snacks and wine/beer to wash it down.
The space is effective and naturally social, with good acoustics and tasteful lighting. It has a personality too, one you can’t help but pick up on at peak times.
Room for improvement? Sure – the tap beer is very poor and too poor to accompany food of this standard. Prices are also on the remorseless end for Sweden.
That said, when balancing the available options in the city it’s well worth dropping by.
