| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A selection of regional cask ales, good gins and whiskies the highlight alongside more familiar hotel bar style alternatives. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A compact down-to-earth bar with a country feel. Chunky furnishings in a traditional environment. Unsurprisingly Badgers feature in the decor though it is not overdone. Large beer garden by a rock formation which actually features within the building itself (try the toilets). Parts of the bar and dining room reportedly date as far back as the 17th Century. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A popular spot for those enjoying the lake or returning from hikes, a friendly vibe given most people are here for recreation and to relax. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Food, snacks, outdoor seating, wifi, hotel rooms, webcam for live Badger watching, books, board games, log fires |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️ Typical Lake District pricing. |
| Description | Based in the traditional Glen Rothay hotel, Badger Bar is a pleasingly unspoilt place for drink and relaxation with country comforts that haven’t veered anywhere close to the kind of sterilised dining room makeovers that have ruined hundreds of rural pubs across the country. Badger Bar is so named for the colony who exist on the grounds and can be viewed on webcam via the bar’s website. The bar itself has plenty of Badger related ephemera whilst not being overblown. A pretty beer garden by the rock formation (which actually bleeds into the building itself – see the toilets) is a lovely place to sit out in the sun, whilst log fires and regional ales do the business for the colder/wetter times of year, of which there are plenty in this part of England.
