Location: Kristinelundsgatan 4, 411 37 Göteborg
Venue Type: Basement Bar / Beer Specialists
Year of Inscription: 2026
EBG Rating: 7.9/10
Choice/Quality of Drinks:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The beer selection takes in the best of Europe with US representation and local beers besides. Tap selection is quality over quantity but there is a handsome range of bottles and cans.
Perfunctory alternatives.
Style/Décor:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
3 Små Rum / Three Small Rooms is in basic terms a description of the pub itself, but doesn’t quite do justice to what to find down here. A basement pub. Along with cabinets full of beer bottles and a handsome tap selection (they are beer specialists after all), the place is decorated almost like a Shisha lounge, with weaves, rugs and ethnic patterns.
Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A little cliquey by the main bar but a characterful venue and some nice tables in the clandestine feeling side rooms. A shame it doesn’t open late night.
Amenities/Events:
❤️❤️❤️
Food, snacks, shop/takeaway
Value For Money:
❤️❤️
Prices are remorselessly high, even by Swedish standards and even corresponding to the quality. A more democratic spread of prices would be fairer to the range and means of potential customers.
Description:
A relatively long-standing beer specialists from the 2000s, that legacy can be seen from the rather outdated signage out front, although at least it signals very clearly what is on offer in here.
3 Små Rum / Three Small Rooms is in basic terms a description of the pub itself, but doesn’t quite do justice to what to find down here.
Along with cabinets full of beer bottles and a handsome tap selection (they are beer specialists after all), the place is decorated almost like a Shisha lounge, with weaves, rugs and ethnic patterns, the owner Reza being from Persian heritage. This gives the basement rooms an unexpected character and atmosphere – whether you feel this is reconciled is a matter of taste, but at least it has an identity.
The beer selection takes in the best of Europe with US representation and local beers besides, and we learn Reza is himself a brewer.
Gothenburg is not swimming in great bars so it’s a clear and distinct option should you come to visit the city.
One slight drawback from our perspective is that the prices are remorselessly high, even by Swedish standards and even corresponding to the quality. A more democratic spread of prices would be fairer to the range and means of potential customers.
There is a slight cliqueyness around the bar area itself too, however the side rooms are atmospheric. It’s a shame they close at 10/11pm as this venue absolutely begs to be a late night option.
A case of plenty of pluses and unfulfilled potential.
