Choice/ Quality of Drinks	❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5 lines from a small independent craft brewery south west of Ostrava. Simple alternatives.
Style/ Décor	❤️❤️❤️ An old retail unit, one -room with a bit of an outbuilding feel. It’s super simple on the inside, but the minimalism is in attitude rather than style, as the furnishings are functional rather than any sort of craft styling. Either way it is certainly unpretentious, and not a key feature of the pub.
Atmosphere/ Character	❤️❤️❤️❤️ Lively social atmosphere popular with a slightly younger crowd than average, though not exclusively. A clear fanbase and regular custom gives it a sense of acquired importance. Service is decent.

Description	Established some time in 2023, Zenke, a rural brewery south west of Ostrava have an outpost in the region’s capital. Set off one of the main thoroughfares in typical panelaky / hi-rise projects environment, the contrast between the surroundings and the more forward looking operation is stark. Easily reachable via Trebovice tram line, but once you’re here you will feel a long way way from the old town (and in more than one sense, you are). A brewery with a high reputation in the region, they focus evenly between traditional Czech styles and modern ales, with around 4/5 on tap here at any one time.  The interior is simple, but warm and cosy, a social setup where the emphasis is on socialising far more than it is about sampling. The interior could use a bit more personalising and identity, but at least they haven’t fallen for the same stereotypical craft bar look. Meanwhile, the social scene here ensures a good atmosphere if you arrive at the right time. Although it does slant towards a younger audience there is no particular reason why older generations shouldn’t give this place a try, as it combines a number of timeless virtues. Oh, and the prices are rather fair too. (Added November 2024)
