| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4 taps from Browar Amber with a healthy craft can selection. The place is also known for gins and cocktails. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Eye-catching exterior with large neon signage and projecting a sense of institution. Unlike a lot of Warsaw venues this is more ramshackle, somewhere between a cultkneipe you’d find in Germany and one of Kazimier’s antique bars in Krakow. Lampshades, rickety furniture, rugs. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Sleepy, but homely character in the afternoon, a characterful place to count the dust motes and ponder. This all changes as it turns to evening with a premium on space, musical acts and sense of cultural institution that is tangible. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Food, snacks, live events, limited outdoor seating. |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Overall reasonable value, given the fashionable location. |
| Description | Praga is the nearest district Warsaw has to an alternative scene like Zizkov, Neukolln, Kazimierz or District VII, although it continues to be somewhat of a pale imitation. More like Gostenhof in Nuremberg perhaps, you need to know your way around to find the intermittent dots of nightlife. All such places need a centrepiece and here it is W Oparach Absurdu, a cosy, antiquey pub with the usual rickety furniture, fairylights and rugs that could easily slot into Krakow’s nightlife scene, representing a rare departure from the usual corporate lounge bar fare in Poland’s capital. Somewhat of an all-rounder, you can find yourself eating pierogi at lunchtime or dancing to live music in the small hours, this little venue is an essential bolt hole, perhaps not for everyone but fondly thought of by many – including us.
