Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
An superior range of non-standard and lesser spotted Czech lagers and ales. Beer focused so alternatives are perfunctory.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️
Appealing appearance from the outside, warmth exuding from a corner pub with a back garden. Formerly a Kozel branded pub, now the hoarding is for Kamenice, a sign of the times. Inside there’s a simple hospoda with a fairly charming low-key nature, which matches the neighbourhood it is set in.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A casual, calm local hangout with no music, just simple socialising inside or in the garden. This works both when quiet or busy.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️
Snacks, books, outdoor seating
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️❤️
Entirely fair value for what is offered.
DescriptionNear a park in a tucked out of the way corner of Prague but a short walk from Na Veseli tram stop is U Rumlika, a hilltop corner pivnice in a quiet neighbourhood. They specialist in multitap offerings of regional Czech lagers and craft styles, which is an upgrade from its previous life as a Kozel pub. The self-styled ‘Pivni Laboratory’. However, they haven’t thrown the baby out with the bathwater – you’ll find the hospoda room intact and characterful, with simple seating around the taproom and an intimate feel. There’s a pleasant yard too. Certainly worth journeying out to try. (Added November 2023)
