| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Why, Pilsner Urquell! This is one of Prague’s core PU pubs. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️ Formerly lime green, the place has had a sensitive makeover without ruining the prior aesthetic. Mushroom theme (hence the name) with beer ephemera. A small taproom leads to two larger partitioned rooms as suitable for pub-going or dining, equally informal. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Service with the tapster/server combo has a degree of formality and familiarity, and the pub is still largely inhabited by locals rather than tourists, although they are used to an increasing number. You’ll find the atmosphere sleepy at times, occasionally bursting into animated conversation. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Cooked food, TV, snacks |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Fair for the area, but not among the cheaper places. |
| Description | We have known about the place a long time now, all the way back to 2007 in fact, as one of Prague’s core Pilsner Urquell pubs. It has taken a while to convince us to include it on the guide, but slowly and surely it has won us over. Perhaps it’s the well choreographed tapster-server combo, the persistently local neighbourhood feel to the place that’s been lost in certain central Prague places, and the refurbishment that removed the quite garish lime green walls in favour of a sensitive, sympathetic ruralism. It just hits the mark across enough criteria to be a firm recommendation. (added June 2022) |
