Other than the cafébar selections, the place is about the Pfiff, 0.15l pour of beer to wash down their sandwiches.

A 1970s era soup kitchen with an effective, fairly faithful retro refit. Entrance directly off a pedestrian street into a canteen style atmosphere with deli counter and some seating + high tables to the right.

DescriptionOne of Vienna’s iconic venues, this is a particular format and set up which places it apart from other pubs and bars. You could perhaps stay no longer than 5 minutes, but that’s almost not the point. A Polish canteen serving finger sandwiches with a Pfiff, a tiny 0.15l of beer to wash it down, this is a snack bar but also a social meeting point with an excitable buzz and rhythm of service which is eye-catching. You can just as easily make an hour of it in there returning for further sandwiches and beer while chatting on a high table or the limited seats to the side of the room. A Vienna classic, a bar but not quite as you know it. (Added April 2023)
