DescriptionA loved and cherished local is a fine thing, and here is among the finest examples in London. Popular community boozer attracting the neighbourhood. It’s rather garish exterior that is more likely to have you reaching for a pair of sunglasses than entering the pub gives no hint to the warm, lavish exuberant Victorian interior. Strangely enough the architect is unknown!  Another threatened pub that was saved by a rush of community support, a good reminder of the rewards of using your local amenities, particularly special pubs like these. Although there is a Thai food kitchen, the interior is very much geared for casual socialising with books, board games and hangout spots. The cask handpulled ales are on rotation from smaller brewers and provide a continuing low-key interest as well. Check out the atrium to the rear of the pub and be sure to explore!
