Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A clearly superior range of beers by Valencia’s still overall modest standards, a selection usually covering a range of styles well.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️
A corner bar with lived-in, going on ramshackle interior that doesn’t know if it is trying to be an English pub or a Cuban cantina.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Popular central hangout which sees groups of people moving in and out of the place like the tides. The small interior means it can go from quiet, dusky and relaxed to gregarious very quickly.

Tapas, snacks, outdoor seating
Value For Money❤️❤️
City centre prices but not extortionate.
DescriptionThe Market serves an important function in a city that has a thousand bars but at a rough estimate, fewer than 25 offering any good beer on tap. That isn’t itself good enough reason to include it on our guide – you only have to look at some of the other craft beer places which are pretty drab or uninspired venues. The Market has a knockabout casual nature, not interested in copying craft templates, instead focusing on its role as a social meeting space. A small, lived-in, going on ramshackle interior is a cosy bolthole that can go from a peaceful place to contemplate over a nice beer, to a gregarious meeting spot very quickly as groups enter and leave like the tides. The beer range is well thought out with a good spread of styles. In another city there would not necessarily be reason to jump up and down about the place, but it comfortably etches a spot on our guide as a recommendation for beer lovers in Valencia.
