| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️ Fuller’s cask range in good condition with a reasonable middlebrow selection of alternatives. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Famous for its forest of hanging baskets outside and old-time memorabilia inside, there is no doubt this place goes the extra mile. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Neighbourly, yet famous, with some rear seating for dining, and the front bar for socialising, this works pretty well, in a similar kind of way to somewhere like Whitelock’s in Leeds. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Food, snacks, limited outdoor seating, books, occasional events |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️ Kensington prices, but not too scary. |
| Description | A historic 1750 pub famous for WWII memorabilia and its wall of hanging baskets and greenery out front, this is part touristy, part neighbourly, a balance which largely works. Fullers owned with a range of cask ales from their stable, and a connection to the Thai restaurant next door. The interior is crammed with interesting nik-naks and collectors items, a firm sense of institution about it. Worth seeking out. (Added May 2023) |
