| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A good blend of traditional cask and modern keg with some fridge options, perhaps good lagers the only glaring shortcoming on the beer front. A perfunctory back bar. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️ Distinctive setting, a canalside pub which leads directly out onto moorings with its rows of tourist barges and holiday barges. The theme continues inside in a small curved interior, with seating out on the front. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Always busy and social with a good range of locals and daytrippers. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Outdoor seating, snacks, books, games |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Fair value for a free house with some explicitly cheaper options available. |
| Description | After a few visits we’re convinced to add this canal side bar to our guide. A distinctive location on the corner of a canal dock with rows of barges and waterside views from both inside and out. A small venue inside, flinging its windows open in summer with terrace seating, there is a very pleasant atmosphere with a blend of locals and daytrippers enjoying the surroundings in a natural social setting. The beer options are pretty good on cask and keg, and in the fridge, perhaps missing a couple of lagers of better standard to complete the set. (Added August 2023) |
