Well in line with the going rate for the area and quite reasonable for North London.
DescriptionOn the side of ‘The Castle’, where reportedly Horatio Nelson’s uncle frequented, then rebuilt into the Trafalgar, and now ‘Tapping the Admiral’, a nifty name referencing alcohol consumption and Nelson himself. Not exactly brought to life, as restored to its potential by the owners of the nearby Pineapple (also a great pub). Low-key and neighbourly, but that is intended as a compliment. This is an operation determined to do what pubs of this sort excel in – great cask hand-pulled ale and some ciders, community events and amenities, somewhere to socialise, a meeting place. The interior doesn’t have the heritage glam of The Pineapple but it does have a sort of stolid appeal that would inspire loyalty if you lived anywhere near it. Keep a look out for their beloved pub cat too! An essential stop off if visiting the pubs around Kentish Town. (Added September 2023)
