| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Two bargain basement lagers with 1 tap of changing specialist beer from a range of brewers. Simple and predictable back bar and alternatives. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️ Varnished wood strip panelling throughout, a small pubby vycep (taproom) leading to a larger pub room with pool table in the centre |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ When they say a true locals pub, they don’t come any more local than this one. No tourists are going here, and even a lot of the local neighbourhood aren’t. This is a true informal, smokey, grimy hangout that looks to have been parachuted in from the 1990s. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Pizza, snacks, pool table, TV, darts, occasional live music |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Superb value and one of the cheaper prices in the whole city. |
| Description | A local’s local, trust us, there are no tourists choosing to come to Pankrac in order to visit this pub. Tucked around the corner on a sliproad by a motorway, you only visit here if you know it in advance. The outside has an overly dramatic red Krusovice signage which is at least eye-catching. Enter to find a blast-from-the-past taproom with old geezers smoking and hollering at the TV, pool being played in the main room and very occasionally live music in the lounge. It’s not a hostile place, although you may find it intimidating at first, the service is kind and the locals won’t are not hostile. As you’d expect with a ‘pajzl’ of this kind, the prices are dirt cheap, but like U Prasivky, there’s a nice surprise in store with a tap set aside for a rotating offer of specialist beers. This is a way of extending an olive branch to the next generation and secure the business’ long term future – however, word is yet to spread about it. So, in a strange way, if you visit here you’ll be ahead of the curve. (Added November 2023) |
