| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A reasonably well-stocked back bar, with the beer options typically Brnoese – that is to say non-standard. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Eye-catching exterior signage which appears to lead to a tea room upstairs, instead dive (dive being the operative word) to a basement with mosaic tiling and small raised area to the back of the room. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The place retains a truly underground feel as well as simply being a basement bar. The minimal decor helps with that, it feels a bit like a storage area no-one was really ever meant to go in. A host of regulars crowd the bar, but the atmosphere is very casual and chatty. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Table football, snacks, upstairs tea room. |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Good. |
| Description | GO DOWN TO THE BASEMENT, NOT UPSTAIRSNow that’s out of the way, the description, Meaning ‘Glass Meadow’, Sklelena Louka is a confusing venue with an upstairs tearoom which seems prim and proper, with the other side of the telescope downstairs in the basement, an alternative, counter-cultural dive bar for clandestine hangouts, chats at the bar, table football at the backroom. It shows once more the diversity of Brno’s scene that such places can still survive outside of the typical corporate templates. While the place would benefit from a little further decoration, the feeling of being off-grid here compensates adequately. Even the beer options, normally a weak point for such places, are pretty good! |
