| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️ Basic offerings in line with the business model of aiming at the budget end of the market. Bases are covered however. For what it’s worth, the beer is immaculately poured here. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ An old style dive, a basement of a house that looks literally like an illegal drinking den with the sole exception of a small red sign indicating the bar. Drop down to a small room, corrugated iron walls furnished with wooden stools. Warm and glowing inside with typical traditional pub signage and old beer kegs. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ The exciting feeling of dropping almost off the map sustains a visit here even in quiet times. This is the counterpoint to flash bars in the centre and virtually the sole survivor of the suburban Tallinn pubs. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Snacks, small grocery selection |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Easily the cheapest bar going in Tallinn. |
| Description | Connected well by one of the most frequent tram lines, getting out of Tallinn through the industrial neighbourhoods is simple, but the journey does reinforce the different faces of the city. This is like connecting with the blue collar side of the Baltics and Scandinavia, a surviving corner pub set in a basement opposite a kiosk. It truly is a surviving dive of which there are virtually zero equivalents elsewhere in Tallinn’s suburbs. This makes it worth a try alone. You’ll also find the cheapest pint in the city and a pleasingly ad hoc operation that strips back a lot of the surrounding b.s of pubs. Go while it still exists, as it seems certain the doors will close for good whenever the owner retires, and with it the entire suburban pub scene of a capital city. (Added November) |
