Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Homemade winery produced to very high standards, with some liqueurs/brandy available too.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️
A homely feel, stepping into someone’s back yard at first (literally) then into a large homestead. There is a bar/counter to the left of the door and indoor dining/seating areas. Low key, well appointed with natural wood/brick.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic hospitality from the family who will explain their background, the process, the production and so on, making the experience feel similar to that of a Zoiglstube where those serving are delighted to welcome you and show off their wares. Calm and relaxing at quieter times up on the plateau outside Sibenik, with a gregarious family feel when bigger groups arrive.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️
Tastings, food, snacks, shop, outdoor seating.
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
Tastings are poured generously and the food platter is similarly vast, ample for two people.
DescriptionPossible to travel by bus to the stop near this winery from Sibenik itself. A family operation based in a plateau the other side of Sibenik’s hills while overshadowed by larger slopes inland.

The wine is made in the surrounding areas, red, white, sparking and rose – the latter two not traditionally Dalmatian. The operation combines a modern approach of quality over quantity, with traditional values of hospitality in a homely setting.

The owners lavish you with information alongside generous pours, letting their enthusiasm out. The food platters feature food made or prepared themselves – fresh bread and olives, home-cured prsut (prosciutto), with some specialist cheeses brought in.

While the upfront cost for a 6 wine wasting and a food platter, may provide pause for thought, the satisfaction afterwards certainly leads one to conclude it was worth every penny.

The hospitality is similar to that of a German Zoiglstube where the passion shines, but the surroundings remain humble, relaxed and all about enjoying the good things in life, without the need for artifice. (Added August 2024)
