Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
10+ taps of excellent beers with a focus on Belgium and European styles but representing modern craft adequately too, supplemented by a big fridge of bottles. While there is a beer focus, wine is not neglected, with champagne by the glass, and there’s a punchbowl on the corner if you feel daring.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A knockabout bar with Belgium and Celtic influences merging. Long bar starts at the entrance ending halfway down to open up a pubby space with communal tables. Side room with pinball and darts, backroom for live events.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
The afternoon time has a ‘den of iniquity’ feel around the bar, with the hardcore drinkers on show (although these are a mixture of rockers, craft beer fans and a few grizzled old sorts), but by early evening it is alive and buzzing with a good mixture of people. Casual and friendly with a real energy to the place, somewhere to make new friends and have fun.

Value For Money❤️❤️❤️
Standard pricing for the city in line with the quality of produce, with some gems to be had during happy hour.
DescriptionIt feels like every small city upwards in France has at least one down to earth tavern which leans heavily on Belgian beers, rock music and possibly some Celtic influences – this is Reims’ clearest example. A long and impressive list of taps provides a selection that can compete with anywhere in the city, with a European bias but not beyond craft selections either. These are averagely priced but there are some real standouts during happy hour to pay attention to.

An unpretentious knockabout sort of place where you can turn around and find a new person to talk to. Pinball and darts in the side room, event space in the back, and a cosy set of communal tables down a long narrow central bar make this an excitable, popular and versatile social venue that nails most of the qualities of bars aside pretense and artifice.

It might not be a place to take a first date (although, being Reims, you can still purchase Champagne by the glass), but it is a place to hang out in, relax and have fun, all the better for offering very nice drinks.
