| Description | Every city needs a pub of this sort, reliable basement hangout where you can just as easily plot in a corner, watch sport on TV or melt into the scenery, and it’s easy to imagine all three happening here. Brick vaults and a light touch literary theme provide a nice environment which is complimented with the local social scene. The drinks offering typifies an approach which is based around a lack of pretension and instead simply provision, serving the people in an unshowy way. (Added April 2023) |
