| EBG Rating: | 8.6/10 |
| Choice/ Quality of Drinks | ❤️❤️❤️ Limited but good Czech lagers on tap. Basic array of mixers, wines and liqueurs on offer also. |
| Style/ Décor | ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Faded grandeur with wooden fixtures, dusty and cobwebby radiator grills, deathtrap spiral staircase to the toilets, and bizarre upside down relief carving attached to the ceiling. Chess boards on the tables. Mezzanine lounge at the back. Stained glass frontage with pub accessible by the theatre door. |
| Atmosphere/ Character | ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Brooding when quiet, raucous and verging on edgy at the peak of the evening. A convivial and engaging space in between then. |
| Amenities/ Events | ❤️❤️❤️ Snacks, music, very late opening hours by Czech standards. |
| Value For Money | ❤️❤️❤️ Fair, nothing notable. |
| Description | Initially tricky to find the front door which is inside the hallway of a theatre. Take the door to the right to ender Posledni Lec, which translates to something like ‘Finishing School’ in reference to its connection. It’s a traditional, rickety pub with wooden furniture and interesting decor like stained glass windows, an upside down carved wood scene pinned to the ceiling. Arty touches make it distinctive as well as atmospheric whether quiet or busy. The place comes alive later on in the evening due to its opening hours and cult status. Mind yourself on the spiral staircase down the the toilets after you’ve had a few drinks. After several visits we upgraded the rating of the place substantially. |
