Czechia’s brewpub operations tend to either be well-financed slick restaurants or almost comically non-descript, so it is nice to discover a venue with a real identity, friendly staff and a social hub in what is a characterful old venue with brick vaults, curved ceilings and classic bar area. This is accessible off the main road but also via little track around a stream, which almost feels like entering a farm. The beers are certainly competent up and down the range, focusing on traditional Czech styles, properly served and extremely good value for money. Sit among a social neighbourly crowd where you get the impression most people know each other or at least live nearby. A proper pub. (Added November 2023)
