Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A small brewing operation covering a range of styles, with 4/5 taps, some permanent, and others seasonal rotations. All have a quite distinctive quality.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Simple farmhouse kitchen interior, with exposed beams, a steam heater and rustic surroundings that are very pleasant. Communal tables and a classic hospoda feel. A wide yard out front for summer days.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
It feels at the heart of rural/small-town Czechia in its rhythms, but an engaging owner and his wife, along with their friends will make you feel welcome, and if you can speak any Czech at all, even better.
Amenities/
Events
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beer shop, snacks, outdoor seating, fireplace, musical instruments
Value For Money❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very fair value for money for what’s on offer.
DescriptionAn intriguing operation, their flash website is quite a departure from an endearing humble rustic taproom. Be sure to check the timings online before your visit as this place is not open all-day-every-day. A 5 minute train ride from Strakonice drops you in this hamlet, walking past beautiful village houses and streams to the brewery.

As you enter a wide yard, the taproom is across the other end. The taproom itself is set up like a humble hospoda. A steam heater, fully kitten out taps and basic furnishings that feel like being in someone’s pantry. This is at the core of the appeal.

As you sit sipping the owner and brewmaster David’s creations, you will feel truly off the beaten path. As you may expect, your journey there may produce some friendly questioning!

As afternoon turns into evening just remember to keep your eye on those trains back to Strakonice or Pisek!
