Quality of Drinks
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Krusovice range, which normally wouldn’t excite me, but a few unusual ones and served immaculately. Typical Czech back bar with one or two lesser spotted spirits and liqueurs.
Style/
Décor
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A true pajzl that may look rather intimidating inside and out. Unusually there are two taprooms to the left and to the right of the entrance, with a Vycep (taproom) and a lounge room with a bar, both of which are pleasingly knackered and gloomy in a very characterful manner.
Atmosphere/
Character
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Characterful and entirely local, but a welcome is offered by the young tapster who is both friendly and competent, as other rave reviews attest to. This is a true local’s local, if you like, where you can absorb an authentic, unspoilt Czech hospoda in situ. Probably not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

Value For Money❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great value for money across the range.
DescriptionBoth outward and inward appearances may scare off some from entering, but this working class pub in the entirely untouristy district of Drahovice is an antidote to the German pensioners, Russian millionaires and total void of pub culture you’ll find down the thermal springs of Karlovy Vary’s centre. Take a bus out (5 minutes and regular departures) to find the place. Unvarnished and unspoilt, this is all about a knackered boozer surviving, warts and all. But that doesn’t make it hostile or dying, in fact far from it. Brush up on the usual Czech pleasantries and you can enjoy a friendly welcome from the young tapster getting rave reviews (and awards, it would seem) and sit among people just having a chat and getting on with their social connections. This is their holdout. Very rarely do you encounter trouble in these sorts of places, but of course try to be respectful. The Krusovice (never a favourite of ours) is available across the range for a very good price, and immaculately poured. There was all reason to stay there and have more beers, whether in the intimate, clandestine taproom or the lounge which oozes with age and character (and a giant projector screen, it must be said). A quirky, loveable option that a portion of our readers will love, and many will either detest or be too scared to try. Nothing much we can do about that except insist it is worth your time.
