❤️❤️❤️❤️
Side street occasional cultural centre, a mid-sized bar with stage to the rear and bar area to the left. On busy nights an impromptu counter extends the bar. Simply furnished, the people are what give it the identity.

Atmosphere/Character:
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely fantastic step in to Basque culture, interesting both from a contemporary and academic perspective but also from a fun one – they perform gigs, there’s a crowd and a throng, you can drink and party.

Food, snacks, live music, cultural events.

Value For Money:
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Entirely fair prices.

Description:
Basque activism is alive and well at this part of France. Here at Patxoki, it’s a cultural centre with erratic opening hours but a studded calendar of events, with everything from live music to documentaries about political prisoners. It’s also a very effective bar space, a long room with stage to the rear and bar to the left.

You’ll find Basque ciders available and basic beers at a knock-down rate.

The crowd spills on to the street, sometimes projecting films and images on to the wall opposite.

We found the bar absolutely by chance just through glancing down a street and seeing the congregation of activity.

A truly authentic experience and one to approach with a healthy dose of patience and respect for the people campaigning for their cause, regardless of your personal views.
