Description:
One of the best pubs in Katowice’s conurbation, a trip to Zabrze is a doddle by train on a line that is frequently served. Once you arrive, there’s a short walk down a not very promising selection of sliproads and liminal space, but you could always take the tram to Urząd Stanu Cywilnego stop if you can’t face that.
Oficyna is situation just off the street up a driveway in a historic building and this is genuine repurposed industrial space rather than just a building that’s been gutted and turned into something else.
Inside you’ll be greeted by a truly atmospheric, cosy and instantly likeable space of ceramic tiles, heaters, brick vaults lit by warm hung globe lamps and standing lamps.
It’s something that feels cosmopolitan while also a nice little place away from the prying eyes of a city centre, a bar to keep for yourself and your friends.
Oficyna has a broad drinks selection reflecting a relatively young, mixed (by Polish standards) audience and a evening is kept going by a pizza oven cooking some pretty decent pizzas.
Occasional live music and action on the courtyard elevates the cultural offering, and service for ourselves and it would seem others, friendly and welcoming.
There’s the sense that even more could be done with the venue, its full potential as yet untapped.
If you’re even vaguely close by and fancy a drink, don’t think twice – come here.
